Post-Op Fibrosis Treatment

Targeted care for stubborn post-surgical tissue.
Post-Op Fibrosis Treatment is a specialized body treatment designed for clients experiencing areas of hardened, dense, uneven, or restricted-feeling tissue following cosmetic surgery.
As the body heals after procedures such as liposuction and body contouring, some clients may develop areas of firmness, irregular texture, or tissue restriction. This treatment uses targeted manual techniques and appropriate bodywork modalities to address these areas while continuing to support healthy lymphatic flow and the body's natural recovery process.
Unlike standard post-operative lymphatic drainage, fibrosis treatment focuses more specifically on established areas of tissue firmness and irregularity once your stage of healing allows for more targeted work.
Your practitioner is professionally trained in Brazilian post-surgical lymphatic drainage and fibrosis techniques through Brazilicious Beauty Spa and the Josie Rushing Brazilian Beauty Formula method, allowing each treatment to be adapted to your procedure, stage of recovery, and individual presentation.
Soften. Smooth. Restore.

What Is Post-Op Fibrosis?
Post-surgical fibrosis refers to areas of firm or hardened scar-like tissue that can develop during the healing process following certain surgical procedures.
It may feel different from ordinary post-operative swelling and can sometimes appear as:
- Firm or hardened areas beneath the skin
- Uneven or lumpy texture
- Areas that feel tight or restricted
- Ridges or irregularities beneath the skin
- Areas that feel different from surrounding tissue
- Reduced tissue mobility
Because swelling, scar tissue, seromas, and other post-operative concerns can sometimes feel or appear similar, your practitioner may recommend evaluation by your surgeon before treatment when appropriate.

Treatment Benefits
Depending on your stage of recovery and individual presentation, fibrosis-focused bodywork may help:
- Improve the feel and mobility of firm tissue
- Encourage softer-feeling tissue
- Improve the appearance of uneven texture
- Support healthy lymphatic flow
- Reduce feelings of tightness or restriction
- Support circulation
- Improve overall tissue appearance
- Complement the body's natural recovery process
Results and treatment needs vary significantly between clients depending on the surgical procedure, healing response, and severity and duration of the tissue changes.
Your Experience
Fibrosis treatment is not a traditional massage and differs from early-stage post-operative lymphatic drainage.
Your practitioner will first assess the areas of concern and determine which techniques are appropriate for your current stage of healing.
Treatment may feel more targeted than lymphatic drainage, but it should never be approached with a “more pain means better results” mentality. Techniques are adjusted according to your tissue response, sensitivity, and recovery stage.
As your tissue changes throughout a series, your treatment will change with it.
Target the tissue. Respect the healing process.
When Should I Book Fibrosis Treatment?
Fibrosis treatment is generally intended for clients who have progressed beyond the earliest stage of post-operative recovery and are experiencing persistent areas of firmness, restriction, or uneven tissue.
There is no universal post-surgery timeline for beginning fibrosis-focused treatment.
The appropriate timing depends on:
- Type of surgery performed
- Time since surgery
- Incision healing
- Presence of swelling
- Tissue condition
- Surgical complications, if any
- Your surgeon's post-operative instructions
Medical or surgeon clearance may be requested before treatment.
If you are newly post-op and primarily experiencing swelling or fluid retention rather than established areas of firmness, please book Post-Op Lymphatic Drainage instead.
Recommended Series
Fibrotic tissue often requires more than one treatment.
Your practitioner will assess the tissue during your initial appointment and recommend a treatment schedule based on your individual presentation and response.
