How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Laser hair removal works progressively because individual hairs are in different stages of the growth cycle at any given time.

Most clients should expect a series rather than a single treatment. Several Las Vegas providers currently describe approximately 6–8 sessions as typical, although individual treatment needs vary.

Your treatment plan will depend on factors including:

Hair Color Matters

Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment associated with the hair follicle.

For that reason, darker, more pigmented hair generally responds better than very light hair.

Blonde, white, gray and some red hair may respond poorly or may not be appropriate for laser hair removal because there may not be enough target pigment present.

We'll assess your hair before beginning a treatment series so you aren't paying for a treatment unlikely to produce meaningful results.

Your Fitzpatrick skin type is evaluated before treatment so treatment parameters can be selected appropriately for your skin and the capabilities of the laser platform being used.

Recent tanning and significant sun exposure can affect treatment eligibility and may require postponing an appointment.

Before Your Appointment

For best results:

• Shave the treatment area before your appointment
• Do not wax, tweeze or epilate the treatment area before treatment
• Avoid intentional tanning and excessive sun exposure
• Avoid self-tanner on the treatment area
• Arrive with clean skin
• Avoid applying lotion, oil, deodorant or other products to the treatment area when instructed
• Tell your practitioner about medications and supplements
• Tell us about recent laser treatments or skin procedures

Do not wax or tweeze between laser sessions. The follicle needs to remain available for the laser to target.

What to Expect

Laser hair removal appointments are generally quick, although treatment time varies depending on the size of the area.

During treatment, you may experience brief sensations of warmth or snapping as the laser pulses.

After treatment, temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling around the follicles may occur. These effects generally resolve as the skin settles.
